3M™ Double Coated Tape 9817M

  • Generalpurpose tape for jobs requiring high tack, balanced peel and shear strength
  • Acrylic adhesive on face side delivers excellent adhesion to low surface energy substrates
  • Rubberbased adhesive on liner side bonds to foams, rubber and plastics
  • White polyester film carrier adds dimensional stability and improved handling
  • 74# DK liner adds strength during processing

3M Double Coated Tape 9817M features two different adhesives: a face side acrylic adhesive bonds to LSE surfaces, and a linerside rubber adhesive bonds to open and closedcell foams, rubber, polyester and many plastics. This 3.3 mil tape adheres immediately and delivers good heat resistance. A 74# densified kraft liner adds moisture resistance and dimensional stability for rotary diecutting.

A Balanced and Economical Tape for GeneralPurpose Industrial Applications

With a nominal thickness of 3.3 mils, our 3M Double Coated Tape 9817M (PDF, 13.54 Kb) is a generalpurpose industrial tape that features two different adhesives for a range of low surface energy and high surface energy substrates. Its face side adhesive is an acrylic PSA which provides quick stick and long term adhesion to challenging surfaces. The liner side features an aggressive rubberbased adhesive that forms an immediate bond to most open cell urethane and closed cell urethane foams, polyester, polyester urethane, polyethylene, polystyrene, vinyl foams and most rubbers. A white polyester film carrier adds dimensional stability, and provides easier handling. The 74lb. densified kraft paper liner adds dimensional strength for effective slitting and rotary diecutting, and protects against humidity during storage. 3M Double Coated Tape 9817M has been tested for heat resistance from 175;/80。 for short periods, and 120;/49。 long term.
